Marathon bombing survivor from Lowell learns to run again

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A survivor of the Boston Marathon bombings put her strength and resilience on display this week as she ran for the first time since losing both of her legs.

Celeste Corcoran lost both her legs below the knee as a result of being hit by shrapnel in the April 15, 2013 attack. Her teenage daughter, Sydney, also sustained a severe injury to her leg.

The Lowell mom began running on her new prosthetic legs for the first time Tuesday. Video of her inspiring run was posted on a Facebook page dedicated to Celeste and Sydney's recovery.

"Another huge LEAP in the process of getting her life back," read a message on the Facebook page. "And the funny thing is she never liked to run before! This is her way of saying (expletive) YOU terrorists! And yet again proving that good triumphs over all evil!"

The post went on to thank the company helping Celeste in her rehabilitation, 50 Legs and Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates of Orlando, Fla.
