Mangos fend off robbery in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Two alleged robbers attacked by mangos will face a judge Monday.

The two men entered the Portuguese Market owned by Otilia Martins' son-in-law on Friday and she wasn't having any of it.

The 80-year-old was able to fend off the men by throwing mangos at them. She was pistol-whipped in the head, but continued to chase them out of the store.

Suspects Jesse Dos-Santos and Eduardo Torres-Lopez will be in court charged with armed robbery and assault.
