Manchester police investigating suspicious death of 2-year-old

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old in Manchester that the New Hampshire Attorney General has called "suspicious."

Manchester police said they were called to a home on Howe Street around 11:30 a.m. for a report that the boy was unconscious.

The boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was expected Tuesday to determine what caused the boy's death.

Neighbors told Boston 25 News they were questioned by police.

"Do we know the family, did we hear any loud noises, was there ever any arguing or anything like that? That’s why it really came as a shock because we never really heard anything from them at all," Eric Landry, a father of three who lives in the apartment above where the boy died, said. "We tried to get more details and they really wouldn’t give us any more information."

Authorities aren’t talking about how the conclusion about the boy’s death being suspicious was reached or the circumstances surrounding the case. It's unclear where they toddler's parents are at this time.
