Manchester family turns to humor after Mary statue stolen

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A New Hampshire family is turning to humor in hopes of finding a stolen statue from their nativity scene.

Someone stole the Virgin Mary from the Kula family's yard in Manchester.

So they put up a sign that says "please help, Mary missing. Joseph doesn't want to be a single dad!"

“We figured a little bit of humor is always good and that it would get a lot of attention and it certainly has,” Shirl Kula said.

The family said they hope someone will return the statue to before Christmas.

“Let’s face it. It’s not much of a Nativity set without Mary. We’d like her back,” Kula said.
