Updated:MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com)â A cat is recovering from surgery after he was pulled out of a car engine at a Wal-Mart parking lot last Saturday, Manchester Animal Shelter reports.
The cat, named Tommy, was trapped in a car engine for almost three miles. The driver heard him screaming and pulled into a Wal-Mart parking lot in Manchester where several people attempted to free him. Three firefighters eventually removed the animal from the engine.
Tommy was taken to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and treated for third-degree burns. He underwent 90 minutes of surgery and received 100 stitches.
Signs that Tommy was declawed and neutered indicate that he was once someoneâs pet, however an owner has not claimed him. The cat remains under Manchester Animal Shelterâs care.
