Man spent $65,000 on dating services, still couldn't find love

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A New York multi-millionaire has spent $65,000 on six matchmakers in the past 12 years, but has not had any luck.

Now, 250 blind dates later, the 47-year-old Larry Greenfield is still single and blaming his former matchmakers, according to the New York Post.

"You pay them up front and they don't provide a service. They tell you how wonderful you are, whatever you want to hear," the retired Wall Street trader told The newspaper.

Matchmaker Maureen Tara Nelson fired back, saying that one woman she set Greenfield up with, and whom he dismissed as "terrible" looking, was too good for him.

"He thinks since he has money that he is entitled to a beautiful woman," she said. "He needs to realize beautiful women are beyond his reach."

One of Greenfield's former dates, 44-year-old Maxine Gordon, told the newspaper he is looking for "something that doesn't exist."
