Man says he 'got out on Annie Dookhan' during arrest in Chelsea

CHELSEA (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 26-year-old man reportedly told police officers he was out of jail as a result of the drug lab investigation prior to being arrested at a McDonalds in Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office says Jonathan Vaughan was arrested after drinking a Natural Ice beer at a Bellingham Square McDonalds and refusing to leave the fast food restaurant.

Chelsea Police claim Vaughan exclaimed, "I just got out on Annie Dookhan and I ain't going back to jail," while begin escorted out.

The 26-year-old reportedly began violently thrashing against the arresting officers who eventually restrained him.

Police claim they found eight bags of what they believe is crack cocaine packaged for individual sale while searching Vaughan's belongings.

Authorities say Vaughan is one of more than 150 people convicted on drug charges to be released as a result of the state drug lab probe.

The district attorney says Vaughan was released on Dec. 14 after serving over two years for a 2011 conviction on possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute as a subsequent offense and possession with intent to distribute in a school zone. Annie Dookhan was the confirmatory chemist in his case. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18.

Dookhan, the chemist at the center of the drug lab probe, was also scheduled for arraignment Wednesday on five obstruction of justice counts: three in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn and two in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham.
