Man posts outrageous medical bill on Reddit

The internet can be a wealth of information, sprinkled among memes and cat videos.

But it is also where the masses can enlighten others and complain about nearly everything.

One Reddit user took to the forum site to share what he, and many, consider an outrageous medical bill that shows the problems of the U.S. medical industry.

User kgfromthemv took a photo of the bill that his brother apparently received after breaking his neck, back and ankle during a rock-climbing mishap.

The unnamed hospital charged the man more than $367,000 for what the poster said were two surgeries, a week in the hospital, braces and a cast.

The poster added a response that this was only the bill he was presented, but that his brother will have to pay a slight portion of the total after insurance, maybe $1,500 out of pocket.

Comment from discussion My brother fell while rock climbing and broke his neck, back, and ankle. This is what the bill looks like for two surgeries, a week hospital stay, the neck/back braces, and ankle cast..
