Man on bike seriously injured after being hit by minivan

NASHUA, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man riding his bicycle in Nashua was seriously injured after he was hit by a minivan Monday morning.

Nashua police said the man, 55-year-old Kevin Johnson, a resident of the city, was crossing the road, not in a crosswalk, on his bike near D'Angelo's and Mandarin restaurants. The minivan was traveling eastbound on Amherst Street in the left lane, where the collision occurred.

Johnson suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Boston hospital. The minivan's driver is a 21-year-old Nashua woman, though her name had not yet been released.

According to police, an investigation of the accident and the cause is ongoing. Witnesses should call Nashua police at 603-594-3500.
