Man kicked, punched until unconscious in Worcester robbery

WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester police are investigating a robbery.

On Sunday afternoon, police were called to Union Station at Washington Square where they found an unconscious 35-year-old Worcester man on the ground. He was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries and is in stable condition.

Witnesses told police the victim was walking with a group under the bridge when one of the men punched him in the face. The whole group then began kicking and punching the victim. They allegedly went through his pockets, took his backpack and fled on foot toward Union Station.
