Man issued citation for using leaf blower in Brookline before 9 a.m.

BROOKLINE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Waltham man working as part of a landscaping crew was issued a citation for using his leaf blower in Brookline Saturday morning.

Marvin Astillo, 40, was using a leaf blower before 9 a.m. Saturday on Boylston Street, and as a result, was issued a citation as leaf blowing is not allowed in Brookline between May 15 and Sept. 15. Additionally, leaf blowers are not to be used before 9 a.m. on weekends and holidays.

Originally, it was reported Astillo refused to submit identification to a police officer and was placed under arrest; however, all criminal charges have since been dropped.

Astillo has no criminal record.
