A retired Illinois hospice pastor discovered a $1 million winning lottery ticket while cleaning out his desk two months after the prize was announced.
Ron Yurcus said he was tidying up his desk to make room for a new computer when he found about a dozen old lottery tickets he had accumulated.
"I checked the winning numbers on the Illinois Lottery website and just about screamed when I saw that I won," Yurcus said in a release from the Illinois Lottery.
Yurcus and his wife, who have three children and four grandchildren, say they plan to share the money with their family. They also plan to donate some money to charity.
