Massachusetts prosecutors say a man was collecting unemployment while in prison.
Daniel Mullaney, 42, of Everett, was arraigned Wednesday on fraud charges. Investigators said he collected close to $50-thousand in unemployment benefits while behind bars.
Prosecutors said he schemed with a fellow inmate and his ex-wife to keep the benefits flowing for close to a year.
Mullaney's ex-wife's lawyer said she didn't know anything was wrong and was just trying to protect her family.
