Man charged with OUI after pedestrian is struck in Foxborough

FOXBOROUGH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A Boston man was hit by a car early Tuesday morning in Foxborough and state police say the person responsible was driving drunk.

Daniel Lishness, 27, of Southwick, was arrested and charged with OUI Liquor 2nd offense, leaving the scene of personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and OUI liquor with serious injury and negligent operation. He is scheduled to appear in Wrentham District Court on Tuesday.

State police say Trooper Michael Isom was working the Patriots game detail when he was informed by a passing motorist that there was an accident close to his assigned post at about 1 a.m. Trooper Isom headed northbound on Route 1, where he found a 30-year-old man from Boston lying on the road in pain and rolling around. State police said the victim had a broken leg and cuts and bruises. His condition is not known.

Lishness was taken into custody about two miles away from the pedestrian accident, where state police spotted his Infinity sedan with a hole in the windshield and a broken side-view mirror.

State police said they observed heavy odor of alcohol on Lishness' breath, he was unsteady on his feet and was slurring his words.
