Man arrested for indecent assault in North End appears in court

BOSTON — A man was arrested Saturday night after police say he indecently assaulted a woman in the North End over the weekend.

Around 2:30 a.m. Friday, a 20-year-old woman reported the assault near Hanover Street in the North End. Police say 26-year-old Isaiah Brown is a security guard and was still in his uniform when he allegedly followed a woman from Fanueil Hall to Hanover Street.

Police say he stopped the woman and told her he was doing an investigation and needed to speak with her. He escorted her down a side street and told her to strip down to make sure she didn't have a weapon.

While she was standing in her underwear, police say Brown grabbed her waist and tried to kiss her. She then screamed, ran off and called police.

Brown's bail was set at $5,000. If he is released, he will have to wear a GPS. He is due back in court on Dec. 18.
