EXETER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man was arrested in Exeter for first degree assault on a child.
On Friday, Exeter police responded to the Exeter Hospital emergency unit for a report of possible child abuse. The mother of a 3-year-old brought the child in due to vision problems, officials say.
The Criminal Investigation Division developed the mother's boyfriend, Kevin Lynch, as a suspect and were able to get a confession from him. Lynch confessed to assaulting the child, which contained periods of brief suffocation.
Lynch was arrested on a felony count of 1st degree assault on a child and is being held at the Rockingham County Jail on $250,000 bail. He will be arraigned on March 10.
