Man arrested for alleged assault in North End

BOSTON — Police arrested the man suspected in an indecent assault in the North End Saturday night.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, a woman reported an indecent assault near Hanover Street in Boston. The victim told police an unknown black man wearing what appeared to be a security officer's uniform walked up to her, said he needed to talk to her about an important issue and that she had to go with him immediately. After following him for short distance, victim told police the suspect tried to assault her; she ran away and called police.

Police issued a community alert and within 24 hours, police said they identified the suspect.  Saturday around 9 p.m. officers arrested Isaiah Brown, 26, of Randolph, and charged him with indecent assault and battery and impersonating a police officer.

Brown is expected to be arraigned Monday.
