• Man arrested after Weymouth standoff


    WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 54-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a standoff in Weymouth.

    Police were called to the scene on Lakeshore Drive by a relative of the suspect just before 5 a.m. The caller claimed the suspect, identified as Michal Kulik, assaulted him and that Kulik's wife fled the home. The caller also said Kulik indicated he would assault police if they came to the home.
    Investigators responded to the home to learn Kulik had barricaded himself inside a bedroom along with several knives and a "very protective" dog.

    Tactical teams were called to the scene and teams entered the home at about 7 a.m.

    Kulik was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, threats to kill, and disturbing the peace. He was transported to South Shore Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and severe intoxication.
