Man arrested after allegedly robbing two banks minutes apart

TAUNTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested after two banks were robbed in neighboring towns Sunday morning, Raynham police said.

The first robbery happened at 9:30 a.m. at the Eastern Bank on County Street in Taunton.

Minutes later, at 9:46 a.m., the Santander Bank branch on Route 44 in Raynham.

Both towns joined together to investigate the robberies. The investigation led both town police departments to identify 67-year-old Robert Augustine, of Taunton, as the alleged perpetrator of both robberies.
