• Man accused of spitting on MBTA driver arrested


    LYNN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – MBTA transit police said they have arrested a man accused of spitting on an MBTA operator.

    Police said Jeffery Martinez, 22, of Boston, was arrested Friday. Police said Martinez threatened the driver of a bus in Lynn, got off, turned around and spit on the driver. He then walked away toward Central Square.

    According to police, they identified Martinez through several tips after releasing video of the incident.

    Martinez was charged with assault and battery and interfering with public transportation. He will be arraigned Monday.
