Man accused of killing father outside of Weymouth home

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man in Weymouth has been arrested, accused of killing his own father in front of his Cross Street home.

Weymouth police said 20-year-old Michael Beaudry struck his father, 58-year-old Ronald Beaudry, in the head with a blunt object Monday afternoon after an argument that started in the home and spilled out to the street.

"I look outside and Mikey's down on his knees, holding a rag on his father's head and there's blood gushing out and there is a duffel bag under his head," said Tommy Antonwicz, a neighbor.

It was not known what Michael Beaudry hit his father with, but Antonwicz said the man was bleeding profusely from the head. Fox 25's Ted Daniel said he saw a propane tank, a satchel, a bloody shirt and a PVC pipe in the middle of the street.

Witnesses told Fox 25's Daniel that the younger Beaudry attended to his father after striking him, cradled his father's head and apologizing.

"He was very distraught -- crying, screaming: 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it. I didn't mean it," said Antonwicz.

Ronald Beaudry was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arrival.

Michael Beaudry was charged with one count of murder in connection with the incident.

Investigators would not say what the two were fighting about.

A neighbor said Ronald Beaudry was a military veteran who always seemed to have a good relationship with his son.

Beaudry will be arraigned on Tuesday. An investigation is ongoing.
