Man accused of kidnapping, raping woman in Bridgewater

RAYNHAM — A sex offender once deemed too dangerous to be released has been accused of sexually assaulting another person.

Nathaniel Simmons, a Level 3 sex offender, allegedly kidnapped a woman in Brockton, attacking her, and leaving her in the parking lot at the Raynham Walmart.

The victim told police she got into Simmons’ car to smoke crack the morning of the attack, and that’s when he kidnapped her.

Police say Simmons then raped her and burned her with a cigarette and lighter.

After the victim escaped at Walmart, Simmons took off in his car but crashed less than two miles away.

Simmons is charged with rape, kidnapping, assault and several driving violations.
