• Man accused of befriending teens on Facebook, raping them

SCITUATE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Scituate man is accused of repeatedly raping two teenage girls he befriended on Facebook.

The Patriot Ledger reports that bail was set at $15,000 during the Tuesday arraignment of 24-year-old Daniel Joseph Reilly. According to the newspaper, Reilly was arraigned twice in the last month on six counts of statutory rape of a child and two counts each of rape of a child with force, providing obscene material to a minor and enticing a child under 16. Bail was set at $10,000 at an Aug. 9 arraignment.

Citing redacted police reports filed in Hingham District Court, the Patriot Ledger says Reilly "friended" two girls, ages 14 and 15, on Facebook last spring. He allegedly met them on several occasions over the summer. Both girls told police Reilly was persistent about meeting them and sent them an image of his genitals, according to the police reports.

The 14-year-old girl said Reilly told her he was 19 years old. The 15-year-old told police Reilly said he was 18. Police arrested Reilly at his home Aug. 8 and seized his computer and cell phone as evidence.

Reilly will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device if he posts bail. He is due back in court Oct. 1 for a probable cause hearing.
