MELROSE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – An 88-year-old man was struck and killed by an MBTA Route 131 bus at the intersection of Franklin and Pratt streets Tuesday in Melrose.
Accident investigators were back on the scene Wednesday morning taking pictures to try to piece together how the man was killed. It's unclear if the man who died was in a crosswalk or not.
The victim was identified Wednesday as Minor Mclain.
Police said the bus was traveling about 20 miles an hour and was about to make a stop when it happened. According to police, sun glare may have played a role in the accident.
The MBTA said the driver of the bus will be kept off the job while the investigation continues, including drug and alcohol testing for the driver.
