Man, 87, beaten with oxygen tank in Middleborough

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- An 87-year-old man was severely beaten with an oxygen tank in Middleborough Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 12 p.m. at a home on Forest Street.

Police told a photographer at the scene a family member was arrested in connection to the beating. Their identity was not immediately released.

The elderly man was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital via medical helicopter with what are considered life threatening injuries.
