Male body pulled from Flax Pond in South Yarmouth

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – An unconscious male was pulled from Flax Pond in South Yarmouth Tuesday.

Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to the Flax Pond Recreation Area at about 10:51 a.m. for a report of an unconscious male a lifeguard had pulled from the water.

When rescue crews arrived, the male was determined to be deceased.

The waterfront will be closed Wednesday to allow for further investigation.

Due to the anticipated heat, Flax Pond Recreation staff has decided to treat the first and sixth graders to a beach day at Bass River Beach Wednesday. The older children will go to Seagull Beach.
