Malden student accused of bringing knife to school

MALDEN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) — An eighth-grade student was arrested after reportedly bringing a knife to class Friday morning.

Police say the boy is an eighth grade student at the Salemwood School, which is a K-8 school. The boy was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon.

Another student reportedly saw the student with the knife. They told faculty members who then brought the student to the principal's office.

Officers met with the principal and then conducted an investigation. No students were threatened, police said.

The superintendent says the knife might have been a four-inch folding knife.

The boy will be arraigned at the juvenile court in Cambridge at an undisclosed date.
