BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Aid workers have flocked from every corner of the globe to help in the aftermath of a super typhoon in the Philippine Islands, including one Red Cross worker from Malden.
Luis Matnog, a Filipino native, is among those bringing water, food and medicine to areas hit hardest by the storm.
He touched down in Manila Monday, sending a Tweet: "Safely arrived in Manila heading now to @philredcross @RedCrossMA.
His colleagues say he's the man for the job.
"His expertise is logistics in mass disasters; in particular: typhoons and hurricanes," said Jarret Barrios, CEO of the American Red Cross of Mass.
Meanwhile, Red Cross officials in Massachusetts say they're working on setting up a service to help people find loved ones in the Philippines.
