Malden man, 18, facing child rape charges

MALDEN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Malden teen is facing child rape charges after investigators accused him of abusing a child who was being watched by a family member.

Robert Guevara, 18, was arraigned on Wednesday in Malden District Court on two counts of aggravated rape.

Investigators accuse Guevara of repeatedly assaulting a young child sexually between Feb. 2011 and Dec. 2012. The alleged assaults occurred while the child was being watched by Guevara's mother.

Guevara was held on $100,000 cash bail under the conditions that he has no contact with the victim or witnesses, no contact with children under 16, no employment or volunteer work with children under 16, abide by a protective order, wear a GPS bracelet, report to the probation office and surrender his passport. He will be back in court for a probable cause hearing on Jan. 29.
