Making magic with Aerosmith!

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – If you told your friends you were going to sing with Steven Tyler, take a ride in a duck boat with Aerosmith, have a front row seat at their Boston concert, and oh yeah, Steven would shake your hand when he walked off the stage, they'd probably tell you to dream on!

But while it felt like a dream, it was actually a dream come true for a 12-year-old cancer survivor, thanks to Marshfield's Magical Moon Foundation.

Over the Moon Gala!

Saturday night was pure magic at the Magical Moon Foundation's 2nd Annual Over the Moon Grand Gala at the Barker Tavern in Scituate. A surprise appearance by Aerosmith frontman and Magical Moon Board Member Steven Tyler only added to the incredible energy that filled the magnificent ballroom!

The Magical Moon Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Marshfield that supports children and families facing cancer and empowers children to stay strong and resilient from diagnosis through treatment and recovery. The children are "knighted" in special ceremonies and they each choose a name and mission in honor of their journey and to help combat their disease and make the world a safer place for kids with cancer.

The Knights were shining at the event and had front row seats at a night that will go down in history!

Sir Lexie, the Legend of Love, was awarded the "Over the Moon, Knight in Shining Armor Award" and spoke eloquently about overcoming two brain surgeries and two protocols of chemotherapy and about the healthy cookbook for kids with cancer that she's creating with her Moon Spoon Team to empower kids to eat healthy and avoid the things that feed cancer in our bodies.

There was a knighting ceremony in the middle of the ballroom as the Knights of the Magical Moon gathered in a circle around Jessica "Jessie" MacDonald and welcomed their courageous friend with the honor of becoming a Knight of the Magical Moon.

Sir Callie the Conqueror, the 2011 "Over The Moon Knight in Shining Armor" created her 2nd masterpiece, a beautiful watercolor called "Gentle Giant" of an endangered whale shark, that was auctioned off during the live auction to a sold out crowd.

Another highlight of the evening was Sir Michael, Knight of the Magical Sun, as he realized a dream come true when he sang with Steven Tyler and Marshfield singer/songwriter Joe Merrick. It was standing room only when all of the Knights joined in for an unforgettable rendition of "Drift Away."

Other speakers at the event included Sir Stephanie the Strong, Lady Hailey Knight of Hugs, Alice Williams, mother of Sir Lexie, legendary natural health care practitioner Mark Mincolla, Ph.D., cookbook author Georgia Manzo Joachim, motivational speaker Stacey Shipman, Anthony Meenaghan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the visionary behind this wonderful foundation, Magical Moon Founder Donna Green.
