Lynn mayor calling on Congress to change rules after adult enrolls as student

LYNN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy is once again calling on Congress to keep older illegal immigrants out of public school classrooms.

According to the Boston Herald, the most recent problem started when an officer was sent to check on a student who wasn't showing up for class.

It turns out, the student was a 35-year-old man.

Currently, the federal government will not allow school officials to require documentation to verify the age of foreign students.

That's something Mayor Flanagan Kennedy is hoping to change. She told the Herald she plans to meet with the Senate Judiciary Committee later this fall.
