Lynn man who jumped bail in 2010 child rape case caught
LYNN, Mass. (AP)
- A Lynn man who jumped bail after being charged with child rape three years ago has been caught.
Jessy Estrada was arraigned Thursday after he was arrested Wednesday for allegedly driving on a suspended license and other traffic violations.
He was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail. Pleas of not guilty were entered on Estrada's behalf.
The Daily Item reports that the now 31-year-old Estrada was charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl in 2010. He posted $1,000 bail at the time then forfeited the bail when he failed to show up for his next court date.
His court-appointed lawyer argued Thursday that bail should be lower because the girl at first told police they had only kissed before being pressured by police to into saying they had sex.
