Lynn man sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother and grandmother

ESSEX, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com)— A Lynn man was found guilty of murdering his mother and grandmother and condemned to two life sentences on Monday.

Joseph Wright, 25, allegedly murdered his mother and grandmother on April 30, 2012, officials reported. Wright allegedly slashed their throats and dumped their bodies behind an elementary school in Saugus. He attempted to flee to Canada but took off after a second security screening at the border.

Canadian officials caught him and returned him to Massachusetts where he was convicted of murder. He is scheduled to serve two life sentences consecutively without parole.
