SALEM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 69-year-old man from Lynn was pronounced deceased Saturday after falling off a pier in Salem.
Salem police and fire crews were called to the Hawthorne Cove Marina just before 1 a.m. on reports of a man falling into the harbor while trying to get onto a boat, reports the Salem Patch.
The man, identified as John Provencher, was transported to Salem Hospital just after 2 a.m. where he was pronounced deceased. The website reports Provencher was pulled from the water by his friends and emergency responders performed CPR on him until he was transported to the hospital.
