Lynn man charged with murder after weekend stabbing

LYNN, Mass. (AP) -- A Lynn man is headed to court to face a murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing in the city.

A spokeswoman for the Essex district attorney's office says 32-year-old Isaac Hendricks is charged with killing Jonathan Laporte of Dedham on Sunday.

Authorities tell The Daily Item that the men intervened in a fight between two women at Hendricks' home.

Police responded at about 7:25 a.m. Sunday.

Officers arrived to find the 26-year-old Laporte covered in blood and unable to speak but conscious and breathing. He was taken to Salem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A knife and a machete were recovered at the scene.

It was not clear if Hendricks had a lawyer. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Monday.
