Lynch: I'm not running for mayor of Boston

(MyFoxBoston.com) – South Boston Congressman Stephen Lynch is a lifelong Boston resident and a longtime lawmaker. However, he apparently will not be replacing Mayor Tom Menino.

Ahead of the primary, FOX 25 asked Lynch if he'd run for mayor if voters in the Senate race didn't go his way. He said he was focused on the state race.
    
Last week, he came up short against fellow Congressman and now Democratic nominee Ed Markey.

Despite support from both constituents and politicians, Lynch told the Boston Herald "I'm not running for mayor of the city of Boston, thank you very much."
