She said she was able to break free and began to scream for help.

A neighbor called police and saw the suspect flee the scene.

“She was crying and couldn't breathe, breathing very heavy,” Emily Brennan said. “I said 'what's happening?' She said 'he was trying to rape me.'”

Police searched the area with the help of K9’s, but didn’t locate the suspect.

The attacker is described as a Hispanic man between 18- and 20-years-old with short hair and a birthmark near his mouth.

He may also have scratches on his neck.

Lowell police said they are continuing to work on a sketch of the attacker and as asking the public for help identifying him.

This story will be updated on-air and online as soon as police release the sketch.
