Lowell police make arrest in connection with shooting death of 2 brothers

LOWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Officials in Lowell announced they made an arrest in the shooting deaths of two sons of a retired Lowell police chief.

Dara Poum, 28, of Chelsea is facing several charges including murder stemming from the deaths of 35-year-old Keith Callahan and 29-year-old Joseph Callahan.

Officials say Poum allegedly went to the brothers' apartment on Andrews Street early Sunday morning looking for someone who wasn't there. Poum allegedly had a gun and during a struggle, both brothers were shot. Police released a sketch of the suspect earlier this week.

Middlsex District Attorney Marian Ryan explained Tuesday how authorities were able to track him down and arrest him. He is due next in court for his arraignment.
