Lowell High School to resume classes Monday after inspections

BOSTON — Lowell High School will re-open after days of inspections.

The week before April vacation, students were forced to stay home for three days because of gas leaks inside the field house.

Lowell city officials say they will replace all three heating systems inside that building, but haven't yet said when that will happen.

City officials also stressed the need for a new high school, not a renovated one.

Until repairs are made, the gas has been turned off inside the field house.
