Lowell couple allegedly assaults food-delivery driver

LOWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Lowell couple was arrested Monday for hitting a female food-delivery driver in the head with a bat and stealing from her, police said.

According to the Lowell Sun, 23-year-old Joseph Jump and 20-year-old Brittany Bouthiette were arrested for the armed robbery which occurred in front of 216 Meadowcroft St. at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the driver was able to escape after being attacked. She was bleeding from her head, but conscious, the newspaper reports.

Following an investigation, Jump and Bouthiette were identified as the suspects.

The pair will be arraigned in Lowell District Court Tuesday.
