Low 80s, high humidity for the weekend

The weather pattern doesn't look to change much as we head into the weekend. With a dip in the Jetstream to our west and a blocking area of high pressure to our east, we get caught in the middle. Southerly flow behind this high will transport a warm, humid conveyer belt of moisture up the east coast into our region.  So what does that mean? More of the same basically.

Temperatures will be in the low 80s, cooler at the coasts, but the humidity will remain high no matter where you are. Dew points will hover in the upper 60s and lower 70s, making it feel tropical! With warm and humid conditions and a stalled front sticking around over our area… waves of unsettled weather can be expected this weekend.

Morning clouds will break for some sun and fuel the threat for afternoon showers and storms. They will be hit or miss in nature on Saturday. Overnight, this front may provide enough lift for steadier showers for southeastern areas, while the remainder of the region stays cloudy and muggy. On Sunday, similar conditions can be expected with a few sunny breaks and then the threat of scattered afternoon showers and storms.

If you still have plans for the beach… the cooler water in the upper 50s to low 60s may be a nice relief to the heat and humidity. Waves will be running about 2-4" with a moderate risk of rip currents. Even though we will have clouds and sun, the UV index will be moderate to high… meaning you can still get burnt despite the cloud cover. High Tide will range mostly between 4PM-6PM.
