Local students crown teen who suffers from rare disorder homecoming king

TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Tyngsborough High played its homecoming football game Friday night and the game contained a special surprise for one of its players.

Fellow students selected senior John Kordish to wear the crown. Kordish suffers from Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects his heart and his ability to learn.

What it clearly hasn't affected is his ability to make friends.

"We got great spirit out here. I'm happy to be playing in the homecoming game. And I want to thank my family, Mr. Tansey, and all the football players," he said.

His coach says, he's a really good kid.

"Just a great kid. Very cooperative. Knows what his abilities are and he tries his best," Coach Jim Tansey said.
