Local businesses help brides after Lakeview Pavilion fire

NORWOOD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- After a fire destroyed Foxboro's landmark event venue Lakeview Pavilion on Saturday night, many engaged couples were left scrambling to find new arrangements for their big day.

On Sunday, as crews began knocking down what was left of the building, Pavilion staff worked to set up a temporary office, sifting through , figuring out what to do with deposit checks lost and irretrievable electronic records.

An event coordinator told FOX 25 that weddings scheduled for the next two weeks have been taken care of and rescheduled elsewhere, and officials for the Lakeview Pavilion are asking people who booked an there to send them an e-mail so they can hopefully make other arrangements.

Meanwhile, nearby event venues, catering companies, and other have worked to help panicked brides and grooms.

The Four Points Sheraton in Norwood has become the new venue for a number of upcoming weddings, and catering managers at the hotel's Tiffany Ballroom have offered to customize wedding menus, and relaxed food minimums and deposit requirements to help couples trying to salvage wedding plans.

The ballroom still has some future dates available, and engaged couples can contact managers by emailing them.
