Legislature expected to override governor's veto

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Debate over the transportation budget bill is going as planned, which is not good if you're the governor.

FOX 25 political reporter Sharman Sacchetti reports the House and Senate will meet Wednesday, where they are expected to override his veto of their bill.

Last week, the Gov. Deval Patrick shot it down after lawmakers rejected his demand to make a change that would raise gas taxes if tolls on the western end of the Mass. Pike come down in four years.

Patrick also vetoed more than $400 million in transportation and local aid money from the state budget until the transportation bill could be resolved.

Senate President Therese Murray and House Speaker Robert DeLeo say it's a good bill and the governor is going about this the wrong way.
