Large water main break sends water down streets in the North End

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Water and sewer crews responded to a large water main break that sent water rushing into a North End intersection Friday night.

Boston fire officials say the break occurred just before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Stillman and Endicott streets.

Crews were working to slow down the break by shutting off water in some areas. Most of the water was flowing along the streets and into the sewers, but an electrical inspector was called in amid concern that water could enter basements adjacent to the break.
