(MyFoxBoston.com) – Lawrence Mayor William Lantigua saying that he will have the final say in who replaces retiring Police Chief John Romero.
Lantigua told the Eagle Tribune that he has personally met with nine people about the job. He says he wants a chief that will work hard, continue Romero's legacy and be able to make tough choices when needed.
The chief was on live with VB last week talking about why he's ready to retire. Click here to watch the interview.
Lantigua says he will not rush through the process, even if that means not hiring someone by Romero's last day on Sept. 3.
