BOSTON (AP) - Motorists who use the Tobin Bridge to commute to and from Boston could be facing some delays in the weeks and months ahead.
State transportation officials say a lane restriction will go into effect on Monday as the second phase of a three-year rehabilitation project gets under way on the bridge.
Travel lanes will be reduced from three to two in each direction for the remainder of the construction season through November.
MassDOT says drivers should consider alternate routes or taking public transportation.
The project, which began last spring, involves steel preservation and painting on the 53-year-old bridge over the Mystic River.
