Kitten rescued from hoarding situation needs surgery to walk

EAST BROOKFIELD, Mass. — An East Brookfield animal shelter is making a public plea to help a cat who has had a pretty rough go of it.

He's a beautiful cat, but it's pretty hard to watch as Lion the cat drags his hind legs behind him when he walks.

Lion came to Second Chance a few months ago along with his mother and litter, as part of a large-scale hoarding situation.

It was discovered that almost his entire skeletal system is abnormal and he is considered a dwarf.

Lion needs multiple surgeries, but the vets say he's endured it all with an extremely sweet personality.

Second Chance has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the medical expenses for the kitten, which they expect to exceed $5,000.
