Keolis debuts new time card system

BOSTON — Keolis debuted its new time clock system Friday, following an overtime scandal where employees were clocking in for each other.

The new system allows employees to clock in and out by swiping their finger and tapping in a personalized PIN. The current system allowed clocking in and out via a badge.

Keolis told MBTA officials about the investigation into commuter rail workers cheating on time cards on July 13. In September, nine Keolis employees were fired.

Back in September, a Keolis spokeswoman told FOX25 the company has no idea how long the fraud has been going on or how much the time card cheating has cost taxpayers.
