• Kenny Chesney brings heavy traffic to Route 1

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Traffic was backed up on Route 1 between Interstates 95 and 495 Friday as Kenny Chesney fans descended on Foxborough.

Chesney's "No Shoes Nation" tour took up residence at Gillette Stadium for Friday and Saturday night. Stadium officials said that parking lots at Gillette would open at 2 p.m. Stadium gates will open at 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. show. All vehicle occupants must have a ticket to the concert to enter the lot.

Attendees told FOX 25 they saw a visible change in the security monitoring the parking lots Friday. Many said they saw more police and security driving within the lots.

Police took 617 of the more than 100,000 attendees into custody at the concert last year. Foxborough police said most of those who were arrested were for being a minor in possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, trespassing, assault and battery, and assault and battery on a police officer. One person was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and another was arrested for drug possession

Those arrested in 2012 ranged in age from teenagers to people in their 50s.

There is currently no word on how many people were taken into custody during the first night of this year's shows.
